 Dr. Alfredo Arauz is a native of Miami, Florida. He attended Coral Reef Senior High where he graduated in the top third of his class and received the International Baccalaureate Diploma. He then attended the University of Florida, where he majored in Human Nutrition and minored in Chemistry. While at UF, Dr. Arauz was published in the Journal of the American Society of Microbiology for his help in researching the correlation between periodontal disease and cardiovascular disease while working under Dr. Ann Progulske-Fox and Dr. Paulo Rodrigues. After receiving his undergraduate degree with Summa Cum Laude honors, Dr. Arauz entered the University of Pittsburgh College of Dental Medicine. While in school Dr. Arauz participated in numerous community service projects and mission trips. Including: trips to Jamaica where he treated and educated the underserved citizens of Mavis Bank; was part of the Give Kids a Smile Day, treating the financially burdened children of Allegheny County, Pa; and dedicated over 200 hours to the Church of Saint Justin, educating the predominately Hispanic community in oral health education.
Dr. Arauz continues to further his education by attending continuing education classes on the latest dental advancements and techniques. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Hispanic Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and South Florida District Dental Association. His passion to serve the community drives him and makes him look forward to helping his patients achieve an optimum level of oral healthcare. |
